Two Bad Mice

I have wanted to make this style of card for ages but didn't have the large Go Kreate dies. So I set about making the shape to cut a card and layers in SCAL and yesterday started it. I am quite pleased with how it turned out and the Beatrix Potter Two Bad Mice CD had the perfect image and backing paper on it to finish it off.

Forever Friends Male Birthday

Male cards are always difficult to do but I am lucky that my son loves football and quite likes the FF bears too!! I made the background in PS and then printed and decoupaged the bear and added a ticket greeting and inked with weathered wood distress ink.

Valentines

I made this using Nitwits digi collection From the Heart. I love the little envelope greeting - I printed it and decoupaged it on glossy paper.

I'm in LOVE

with my new Tim Holtz dies!! The rosette die and the tattered flowers. Gosh they are gorgeous. The rosette die makes little perforations for the folds which makes it sooo easy and has a little circular top to keep it all together. I was waiting for the MFT rosette die but am glad I found this now as it cuts 12" in one go as well. I have also discovered Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Dazzling Diamonds and Rose Tea and will be back with pics of my tattered flowers using that!

Revised challenge card

I wasn't happy with my first attempt so I re-did the card today! I coloured Bea with promarkers and I am much happier using these. I cut a mat with an SVG file on the Cricut and re-arranged the elements and added a greeting from CC.

Teddy Bea

This is my card for the Teddy Bo challenge. It is a twisted easel card. I used Blueberry Hill paper and a digi paper from Nitwits which I put an inked stamped edge over. I put a strip of matching paper inside and cut the edges with my valentine MS punch.  I then coloured Teddy Bea in with Copics and cut her out with a large nestie, popped an organza ribbon and some gorgeous roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a bit of card candy. I am not entirely happy with it but then I rarely am!! It isn't what I first set out to achieve and have to keep trying!! I am still searching for the perfect card to colour with copics and working on my blending and shading - a neverending task!!

Teddy Bea

Well of course I was first in line to buy these beautiful digi images this morning at the launch of the site!! I couldn't wait to colour in Teddy Bea - she is gorgeous and I coloured her to match the Prima Jack and Jill paper pad. She is going to appear in many guises over the coming months I feel!!

Lollipop Ella

Using a Lori Boyd digi stamp Ella coloured with Copics and the design is inspired by my friend Andrea. The ribbon is from Ribbon Girl and the sentiment is a digi one from Squigglefly. I cut the card and layers on the Cricut, the files were made by me in SCAL. I embossed the top layer with a cuttlebug folder.

This is a commisioned card for a special lady but it's secret at the moment!

My Copic Markers, a paper rosette and a silly cat!

I have been following some of Suzanne J Dean's great tutorials on copic colouring and found the colours she uses are fab so invested in some sketch markers to go with my ciaos and had to make a new home for them as they are expanding!! I used a gorgeous silver box which was part of a Lancome Genifique set that my darling hubby gave me for Christmas. It is a lovely sturdy box and I put dividers in it to separate them into colour groups so they are easy to find.

I am waiting for Tracy at Dies to Dies for to get the new MFT rosette die in and love these so had a go at making them and was pleased with the result but the die will make it much easier.

I had to add this picture of my lovely boy Tom - he was sitting watching TV with his tongue out, he looked so funny, he is such a daft cat!!

Proud Nanna moment

This card was made by my 12 yr old Grandson Ryan.
He has always been crafty, he has even been to a class with me, bless him. He has held several card sales at his home having dropped flyers into the neighbours beforehand and has made quite a few pennies at it.

He is very talented and my daughter Laura asked him to make a card for her to give to her best friend Steve and he produced this today. He has used the FF CD to print out and cut out the image beautifully and has decoupaged it. He has added the little touches like the name on the number plate and he cut and embossed the star with his new acquisition of the Zipemate, some dies and embossing folders which I passed onto him and it was a step up from his Cuttlekids which I bought him a few years back!

I hope he continues with it, he is very talented and I can see him going far with it. I am sure he will be a designer of some kind, so watch this space!!

Easel Drawer card & Box

This has taken me a couple of hours but I am pleased with the result. An easel card  by Dizzy Designs on a drawer base with a matching box. I coloured a Tilda image and bench with Copics and then printed some PP papers/card to make the rest with. Added a couple of flourishes on the inside with the edges punched with my MS Valentines punch and two flowers with card candy centres. I am not sure if it is finished yet - I might tweak it!

Altered tin

I found this old Jean Paul Gaultier after shave tin discarded and decided to alter it as it was too good to throw away!! I covered it with Tim Holtz Ideaology Vintage Shabby paper from the pad I got the other day and put a shabby paper flower that I printed and then cut in SCAL on it! It will be handy to hold my bits and bobs! I feel very resourceful having done this and now need to find other things to 'alter'!!!

My New Year Resolution

is to teach myself Photoshop!! I have made a start today by making overlays using brushes and even if I do say so myself have done some nice ones!! I will use them to overlay on digi papers and print out for my card making. Sort of like stamping around the edges but the digi way!!

I was also going to buy the MS punch around the page double loop punch set but thought to myself I wonder if I could make that in SCAL so I did that this afternoon too! Saved myself £30!!

I have decided to add a page on here where I will offer all the SCUT files I make for free download, just click on the tab at the top of the page.

Quite a good start for 2011 - let's hope it continues!!

Happy New Year everyone.
