Ooh what a lovely day

it has been, glorious sunshine and warm. I got lots of deliveries of new sugarcraft stash and have been busy organising it all. I have signed up for Debbie Brown's workshop on 4th July in Middx where we will be making this gorgeous creation and it will be for Katie's 6th birthday which is the week after. I am also making her a princess castle, so she will have 2 cakes!!

Honeycomb Smash Cheesecake

Our favourite Italian restaurant always has this gorgeous cheesecake on their menu so I decided to try and make my own and it was delicious. It all went in a flash so I will have to make another one but it is really simple to make and is based on a Jamie Oliver recipe with a few of my own touches and less sugar!

Anyway I have a few pics of some cakes I have made. I am going back into sugarcrafting after some years and these are some of my cakes I made back in the day!

Grazing!!

A friend of mine pointed me towards this site Graze where you get sent a box of delicious fruit, nuts, seeds, whatever you choose, to snack on during the day. Good for you and nutritious and stops you indulging in naughty snacks!!

If anyone wants to try it, here's a code:

VZFTZ7NE

it gives you the first box totally FREE and the second box half price. You can cancel whenever you want which is great. Nothing to lose really :) That's the offer I have tried.

My nail polish collection

I bought so many in the states that I had to organise them properly so got a stand and numbered them and then painted them onto wheels so clients can see what they will look like on their nails. I have a new addiction and so far there are 44 and counting!!

Teddy Bear

I have had these paper piecings for years and when my daughter took these photos of Liam with his Harrods teddy the other day I just knew they would be perfect for a page in his scrapbook using them. My sister always buys my grandchildren a Harrods teddy when they are born and Liam loves playing with his.

M&S Penny Bazaar

Marks and Spencer will celebrate its 125th birthday next week by going back to its roots as a penny bazaar.

The high street giant will stage a three-day bazaar selling a range of 20 products which can be bought for just one penny.

The commemorative range includes jewellery sets, scarves, purses and underwear as well as cufflinks, ties and socks. Other items up for grabs include leather passport holders and luggage tags, tea towels, mugs, retro sweets and drink, beach toys and beach balls.

M&S chairman, Sir Stuart Rose, said: "M&S has been at the heart of Britain for 125 years and we believe that this is something worth celebrating. It has been a tough year for us all but people are fed up with being fed up and we wanted to give our customers a real treat."

The penny bazaars will take place at more than 300 main M&S stores for three days from next Wednesday.

My birthday pressie to myself!

Although I have a fab desktop PC which is my workhorse, I have wanted a laptop for a while but always talked myself out of it but then yesterday I saw this little beauty which is also pink!! I fell instantly in love and the spec is fab so I treated myself - well it's not every day a girl turns 50 is it?!!!

I had THE best birthday ever!

These are my cupcakes, my first attempt and iced really quickly - in 10 mins! I ran out of icing and didn't have a proper bag or nozzle and the cases lost their gorgeous pastel colours once the cakes were cooked, so I still have a lot to learn, but they tasted fab - bit sickly but then they are huge and the icing was a ready made one, if anyone has any recipes for non sickly cupcake frosting, please share with me!!!!

I hope to make my next batch look really pretty with cases you can see and get a proper cupcake server but the kids loved them.

I had a wonderful day, the best birthday ever and my grandchildren got me a glass chopping board with their photo and a lovely message on so I can see their smiley little faces every day when I make my cuppa! I had loads of handmade cards and gifts which mean so much to me and I feel very loved and blessed to have my family. Thank you guys xxxx

It's my birthday

today and it is the big 50!! I have been dreading it but this has now turned into a feeling of liberation and freedom to enjoy my remaining years as I want to. I didn't feel this at 40 so perhaps 50 is the new 40!!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm back!

Arrived back at 9am Friday morning, but jeg lag has really got me this time! I haven't been able to eat properly or sleep at the right time but hopefully this will sort itself out over the weekend. Had a fabulous time, gorgeous weather in the 85-90's and the Disney parks were fab, the shopping as wonderful as usual especially my favourite shop Sephora and Michael's got a couple of visits - good job we had taken an empty case and half empty others! Got a wonderful tan this time too without any effort, you just seem to catch it everywhere walking around the parks and the colour is so deep so I must try and keep it going with my new find of Xen fake tan.

I have decided to return to my love of cake making/sugarcraft and bought loads of stuff from Michaels and Walmart and will be making Katie's 6th birthday cake this year for sure. Although I won't be doing it as a business this time, it got far too busy and I stopped enjoying it so I shall just do it for friends and family.

It's my 50th birthday this Friday and I am doing everything to try and forget it but everyone else is doing the opposite! I am going to make some cupcakes for myself with my new cake baking stash! The kids wanted to buy me a special cake but I said I might as well start as I mean to go on and make my own!

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Kim
