Liam is 1 on Sunday and this is his card from us. Made with the crafters companion Boy CD and inspired by Ginger - thanks pal! I made his invitations using the train with a picture of him and Iggle Piggle in it and this image will be on his cake too. We also sent a big A3 size card with the same picture into CBeebies and will be watching on Sunday to see if they show it!

Well we had a fantastic day. Gorgeous weather, great journey and everyone was lovely - we felt like celebs for the day honestly! David & Carrie Grant - who were hosting the event, were so gracious and such lovely people and she is absolutely stunning IRL. She told Laura how beautiful she was and how she had said to David as they walked in how beautiful that young girl is and didn't realise it was Laura! She said her story was incredible and then proceeded to grab my hand and drool over my nails - which boosted my confidence somewhat!!!! She is very funky and carries it off so well and I had black and silver animal print tips. Russ said I should have told her that I did them myself and I could have got some celeb business - typical him!
Terri Dwyer and Nancy Sorrell were fab too, such lovely normal people - no airs or graces. Beautiful hotel and the lunch was sensational. We sat with Phillipa Forrester who presented Laura with her award and it was so emotional. She read out my nomination letter before she called Laura up onto stage and I was discreetly videoing and then she summoned me up onto the stage to have my photo taken for OK with her and Laura. A few tears were shed, it was surreal listening to her reading our story. We were all so proud of Laura and her older brother got quite emotional too, he was 5 when Laura was born so has some memories. The rest of the photos will be in OK, not sure when yet.
Came home with lovely memories, goody bags and a years subscription to Candis and Laura got a £250 cheque too! Just in time for holiday spends!!

this morning! She had no idea and we were in the car going to college! She was completely surprised when they played it! I love Johnny Vaughn and Lisa Snowdon and we always listen to their show in the mornings in the car. Thanks guys!

I have just bought this fab digi stamp from Chris and coloured her in a goth colour theme. This would be great for cards for goth teenage girls. I haven't made her into a card yet but she is going to be so versatile. Isn't she gorgeous and a bargain at 99p, go and take a look as there are more! I just adore the Manga style look of these little darlings, she is one very clever lady!

the Tommys Triumph Award for a premature baby who survived against all odds and has grown up and achieved great things!! I nominated her after seeing Samantha Bond talking about it on This Morning at the beginning of Feb and completely forgot all about it!! This afternoon I got the email to say she had won We have to attend an awards ceremony next Friday in London at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hyde Park, meet celebrities, have a champagne reception, posh dinner and Phillipa Forrester is presenting Laura with her award. OK Magazine are covering the event and Laura has to give interviews to them and to Candis magazine who are the sponsors. Oh my goodness, now we have to find something to wear, mmm our nails and hair will need doing - well at least I can do our nails now!! ........oh my gosh!!!!!!!!

Been a busy little bee today making cards for my daughter to take into work to sell. This is what I have come up with so far. I have really enjoyed doing these. I hate making the same card twice so there is quite a selection!! I took the photos once they were bagged up - doh! so the light is reflecting off the bags, sorry! Combination of digi papers, elements and coloured images, too many to mention (or remember!!)

Thanks to Enfys, I found this Picasa web album where you can download lots of lovely images in black and white and then print and colour them. They are rather large so you have to be able to resize them in a photo editing programme. There is even a Sarah Kay album. Go and take a peek here

This is Liam's new favourite game, banging on Nanna's keyboard and watching the screen move!! He learnt very quickly that the arrow keys do that just look at those gorgeous little chubby fingers and look at his face which is almost saying "am I allowed to do this Nanna?"!

In my quest to find the perfect card for colouring in with Copics and Promarkers and for taking inkjet printer ink vibrantly and true, I have carried out a test on the current card I use against my new find! I was using the Concord record cards and it was fine but my colours never looked vibrant enough. My son works for a paper company so I asked him for some samples and have found the coated poster paper is far superior as the colour stays on 'top' and is much more vibrant. He got me a 30m roll so I will be ok for a while, but obviously it is not available to the general public so I searched around and found the next best thing is this Duo-Matte 220gsm coated on both sides inkjet photo paper from Tonik. Just wanted to share my find with you all, happy colouring!!!
These are my results.
The top picture is where I have also tested the SU Whisper White cardstock and whilst this is lovely card it still doesn't take the colours as vibrantly. The SU card is on the left and you can see the red copic marker looks almost orange on it compared to the new paper.
Next are pink petticoat papers with the cream background - the normal paper on the left and the new one on the right and you can clearly see that the cream background colour doesn't show as well on the ordinary high quality inkjet paper and that the brown is less vibrant.
The middle picture is comparing with promarkers and the bottom is copics, the paper on the bottom is the new coated card and the one on the top is the ordinary Concord card, you can see the difference in the vibrancy of the colours.
