Today's nails

Pink glitter tips were last weekend's fancy!!

I get bored so quickly and seem to change my nails at least twice a week at the moment!!

These are today's - pink china glaze polish with some white flower nail art and a bit of bling!

Having given up completely and utterly on crafting I don't seem to have much to post about other than grandchildren!

After a real up and down year I will be glad to see the end of this one and for once am looking forward to Christmas as we will be spending it with my eldest daughter and her family and it will be lovely I am sure. Hoping we escape the bugs this year though as we have had our Christmas ruined with flu in the past especially last year.

We are planning our next USA holiday and this time we are going to travel about more and maybe even rent an RV!!

I hope everyone who reads this (if anyone still does!) has a wonderful Christmas. Hug your kids and family and keep safe and well.

Taking the bull by the horns!!

Laura has always had a passion for dancing and after meeting Vincent and Karen from Strictly a couple of years back she has longed to go to classes. Now being alone I decided the other day I should do something to widen my social circle (or actually create one to be more precise!!) and am going to classes with Laura on Thursday - gulp!! I have no idea if I will be able to do it but we have signed up for a 6 week Strictly dance course teaching Latin/Ballroom, Salsa and Jive and it is run by Paul Marcel - he and his brother Richard are choreographers behind the scenes on Strictly and luckily he runs a class just down the road. Think of me! I am hoping to have fun, meet some new friends and get some exercise!!! I will report back after Thursday's class!!

My Grandchildren are on holiday in Spain for 10 days and I am missing them already so thought I would upload the last pictures I took of them before they went. We went to Tilgate Park and had a lovely walk around the lake and the older ones took their scooters and had great fun! Liam also had his 2nd hair cut ready for his holiday and looks very unsure about it!!

I had a lovely trip to Ikea today and am very proud of myself as I put a table and 2 desks together all by myself this afternoon.

It's not a very creative corner at the moment...

I know and I have been a bad blogger but have been trying to get straight in my new pad and I am almost there. It is really feeling like home now and I think we are all getting used to things being different in our lives and I am really lucky to have the love and support of all the family as I move forward into this new phase and we are all still together but living apart (IYKWIM!!) and so far so good it is working and although it may seem strange to some folks we get the best bits of one another without all the hassle and bad bits and hey who cares if it works!! Laura is going back to college to do an NVQ in beauty therapy which she is really looking forward to and it will be good for her to get back into a routine. My eldest daughter is going away on Sunday for 10 days and I am really going to miss her and the children although my wonderful husband is taking me away to the New Forest for a long weekend over the bank holiday, bless his heart. The girls will have the flat to themselves for the weekend and are really looking forward to playing house!!

I am hoping to take all the grandchildren to Chessington on Friday with the girls and am looking forward to that.

Take care of yourselves, back again soon - maybe even with a card or something!!

Well finally I am moved in

to my new apartment. The boys and Russ helped me move yesterday and it was a very busy hectic day and tiring but I couldn't have done it without them, they are such troopers - from lugging heavy stuff up the stairs to building my new bed and Laura's wardrobe. We are semi-settled and it is a lovely place and we hope we will be happy there. A new life for everybody but fingers crossed the transition will be smooth for all concerned. The grandchildren think it is cool having Nanna close by and all on one level, they keep asking to stay!!

I have had to leave all my craft stuff at my other home! No room for it here! I am possibly going to sell a lot so will list it here when I get around to it!!

Hope everyone is well, I don't have internet access all the time so haven't blog hopped for ages but will get around to it. I will leave you with a photo of my girls trying out my new bed!!

Katie's birthday and Ryan's show

Well she loved the cake and loved dismantling it and eating it too!! Just had to share the beautiful photos of my 3 daughters as well as my beautiful grandaughter. We went on from our meal to see Ryan in his production at the Hawth and he won a trophy for his overall commitment and improvement. He was so good in the show too, so it rounded off a lovely day.

Katie's Princess castle cake

I made this for Katie's 6th birthday today and hope she likes it! It was a labour of love but I am pleased with how it turned out. We are having a birthday meal later for her and she has no idea what the cake looks like so I can't wait to see her face!

Rottingdean Beach

The grandchildren had an INSET day yesterday so despite it being cloudy my DD said it looked better at the coast, so we headed for Rottingdean which is a gorgeous little beach. We arrived and it was so blowy and cold and covered with sea mist so we sat in the car and ate our picnic and by the time we had finished, the mist had cleared and the sky was glorious. We sat on the beach for 4 hours and had it all to ourselves. It was Liam's first experience of sand and the sea and seagulls which fascinated him!! He loved every minute of it and even ate his strawberries with sandy hands (my DD had cleaned them but there was the odd bit!!) He did not stop for one minute and wore himself out, so much so by the time we put him in his seat in the car, he just closed his eyes and went to sleep!!

Liam's 1st haircut

Liam had his hair cut last night. All his little curls have gone - well most of them are in Mummy's, Nanna's and Grandad's keepsake boxes now!! He was so good and looks like a proper little man now and even more like his Daddy!

Bookmarks

I got some gold jumbo paper clips from Staples and decorated them to sell at the summer fair, they are so quick and easy to make and make really good bookmarks that don't fall out of the book.

Paint pails

I made these today for the summer fair on Saturday. I have filled them with shredded tissue and thought I might sell them empty for people to put their own gifts in. There is a Dad one, a new baby one (non sex specific) and a girly forever friends bear one. They are really easy to do, I made a template on the PC and have a large format printer so just print and cut, wrap a bit of ribbon round the handle and away you go!

Christening card

For my daughter to give to a friend. I used 2 cuttlebug embossing folders, bazzill cardstock and my threading water punch and a cute little image for this one.

Fathers Day cards

Made using Kate Hadfields new kit at the Lilypad. The graphics are so vibrant and they print beautifully. These are really quick to make so I am making some to sell at the summer fair next week.

My gorgeous little grandson Liam, he is just the happiest baby!

My new phone!

I lost my mobile on holiday and have been using one of the kid's old phones but I found this little beauty yesterday. It is gorgeous, so easy to use, with a huge touch screen and a qwerty keyboard which is SO much easier for a typist like me to use to text on and it works with my nails, although it has a cool little stylus hidden in the bottom which is fab too!! It has so many cool features, plus it is PINK - I am in love with my new little phone!

Katie's new hair cut

She finally gave in and let her Mum cut her hair into a bob! She had started to cut her own fringe in herself secretly so my daughter had no choice and no argument!! She looks so grown up, bless her.

Saffie do you want some juice?

Liam loves Nanna's cats and whilst he was waiting for me to do his lunch, he decided to offer Saffie some of his juice! Then he heard the microwave go ping and couldn't wait any longer!!!
