Brothers and Sister

3 of my Grandchildren, Katie, Liam and Ryan taken a couple of days ago.

Race for Life

My girls after the Race for Life which they did last night. I am so proud of them. They walked 5km in an hour and were muddy and worn out but elated and buzzing and are all set to do it again next year. There was an amazing atmosphere there and I wish I could have done it with them!

Bank Holiday Blues

I have caught this rotten cough/cold and sore throat bug and feel rotten so there won't be much from me for a couple of days, no mojo!! It has been a miserable, dark and wet bank holiday and I feel in need of sunshine desperately!

My girls are doing the Race for Life on Wednesday and I am hoping the rain will let up for them. I am due to have a B12 injection tomorrow so fingers crossed that bucks me up a bit!!

I will leave you with an old scrapbook layout of my Grandaughter Katie that always makes me smile! She was 21 months old in the photos and has such a wonderful smile, bless her.

I hope you are all having a better bank holiday than me!!

Borders and brackets

I saw the QK 12" border dies the other day and thought I wonder if I can make something similar in the Design Studio so set about it and these are the borders I created (the negative cut) I am chuffed as they look really cute either as a strip cut out of the negative or the positive cut so you get 2 lots in one. I adore the brackets as these are quite 'in' at the moment. I learnt from Caz how to make them using the SU tab punch which is a great idea but you are restricted to one size, on the Cricut you can have them whatever size you like and the bit in the middle is a cute shape too!

The tulip border is lovely as it is but if you cut the tops of the flowers off you have the cutest grass to use on a card or layout. Ignore the blank space, that idea didn't work first time!!

Carts used: WIMG, PS, PDDU and the WIMG cart has the border feature so these are really simple to make and if you weld several cuts you can have them as long as you like!!

This is my Grandaughter Katie with her new baby brother Liam. I just love the expressions on her little face!!

My baby and her baby!!

This is my eldest daughter Louise and her new son Liam, she sent me this photo this morning by email and it bought tears to my eyes. She is such a wonderful Mum to all 3 of her beautiful babies.

I have always said my children are my greatest achievement in life and on my down days all I have to do is see or speak to her and my grandchildren and I remember what life is all about.

Ben's new car

My son Ben who is 21 bought his dream car. He decided he is staying at home for the next few years not getting married or moving out and so committed to buying this beauty!! BMW 330 clubsport - it is gorgeous. We are a BMW family at heart my husband having worked with them all his life and this is one reason for getting my mini, it has BMW behind it. Anyway, he is very proud of his new baby and asked Mum to take some pics!! Laura gets to have his black Corsa and can't wait until she is 17 in Feb 09!! Our drive is jam packed at the moment and one of us has to move to let the other out but hey such is life with teenagers!!

Magnolia scene card

My first go at using distress inks on watercolour paper, not too sure about it but made it into a card anyway. I think more practice is needed. Sakura pens on their wings and BG Gypsy paper.

Tuesday, 13 May 2008

Made using 3 sheets of 8 x 8 paper and folded to make mini photo frames, they are then attached together using a square of card to make the hinge. This is for my niece's 17th birthday on Friday. She and Laura haven't met since Laura was born and the first photo is of Kayla holding Laura in the SCBU. They were reunited last year and the 2nd photo is of them both at Laura's 16th birthday party.

For my birthday..

today I have been thoroughly spoilt!! Whilst I was out last night at Caz's SU demo, my son took my youngest daughter shopping and before I got back, he hoovered and tidied everywhere and did the dishwasher, folded the washing, cleaned the kitchen and to say I was gobsmacked when I got in is an understatement!! They also bought me some lovely pressies and my darling husband got me some bottles of my fave rose wine. Then just as he had done 2 years ago on the same day, he booked our holiday again to Orlando for next April 2009! So I have had a lovely day so far and have still to see my eldest daughter and grandchildren later. Plus the sun is shining! Hope everyone else has a good day.

Liam is almost 6 weeks old

and weighed in today at a hefty 11lbs 1oz!

Ryan holding a snake at Longleat

My eldest Grandson Ryan got to hold a snake at Longleat last weekend, lucky thing. When we went it was too cold and the snake was curled up on a hot water bottle on the keepers lap, although I did get to stroke it! I hope to get my chance next year in Florida though.
